Yulia Arakelyan (Portland), Kathryn Hightower (Seattle), and Kimberly
Kaplan (NYC) met while Dance Majors at the University of Washington. The three budding artists had early success with their first dance projects together, and couldn’t bear to part when two graduated and moved to new cities. For the past three years, they have collaborated via videos, emails, blogs, and late
night phone calls, to create dance that explores “barriers” in all their forms.
This is the essence of the Daily Dance Diary. A moment in dance, a moment in time.
The way you glance at the camera makes me feel like you're sharing this special secret just with me, that you communicate through the rhythm of your body.
I admire the matter-of-fact way you move, every time. There is no pretense, just Yu.

It feels like a late night where you ate too much sugar and just have to dance it off. It feels joyful, playful and pure.
