Yulia Arakelyan (Portland), Kathryn Hightower (Seattle), and Kimberly
Kaplan (NYC) met while Dance Majors at the University of Washington. The three budding artists had early success with their first dance projects together, and couldn’t bear to part when two graduated and moved to new cities. For the past three years, they have collaborated via videos, emails, blogs, and late
night phone calls, to create dance that explores “barriers” in all their forms.
I love the stark contrast of colors, and how your torso switches from black to white when you rotate. The repetition is great too. They always taught us to question when we put repetition in dance, but I think it is very effective, especially in improvisation. It shows that you are thinking while you're dancing, and anticipating what might come next.

Y,
This is creepy and beautiful. I like watching your clavicle move as you breathe.
