Yulia Arakelyan (Portland), Kathryn Hightower (Seattle), and Kimberly
Kaplan (NYC) met while Dance Majors at the University of Washington. The three budding artists had early success with their first dance projects together, and couldn’t bear to part when two graduated and moved to new cities. For the past three years, they have collaborated via videos, emails, blogs, and late
night phone calls, to create dance that explores “barriers” in all their forms.

Diary #7
This was an exploration to find the spirals and circles in my spine and joints.
A simple experiment which created some very interesting movements. I like the kicks you were doing, and the way your spine was rotating. I also love the way the light in the background from the windows made parts of your body sort of disappear sometimes.

I love seeing your whole body move!
